I’m a documentary cinematographer specializing in verité-driven storytelling. I’m best known for creating consistently powerful, cinematic images in a wide range of situations. I wear many hats in the field - DP, sometimes producer, drone operator, often sound person - and I’m just as comfortable leading a crew of people lighting an interview as I am single-cam’ing a verité scene, running five wireless lavs. I keep my camera footprint small and nimble so I can immerse the audience in the world of the people I film.
Since 2016, I’ve led a team of cinematographers to develop a distinct style of immersive and cinematic video journalism at VICE News. My work at VICE has been seen by millions of people worldwide on HBO, HULU and Showtime and has won a Peabody, multiple Emmys, Polks, DuPonts, Overseas Press Club Awards and others. In 2017, my team and I filmed the tragic events at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA. Time Magazine named Charlottesville: Race and Terror the best episode of TV in 2017.
Prior to joining VICE News, I shot documentary television for shows like Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, branded projects for ESPN, Red Bull, Ogilvy, Tribeca Film and many others. I live in NYC with my family.
